Kevin Kuhn
Throughout his over 25-year career, Kevin Kuhn has assisted clients in every legal aspect of their businesses, including registration, licensing and start-up, financing, negotiating leases and real estate acquisitions, drafting shareholder agreements and other corporate documents, negotiating and drafting agreements and contracts, addressing insurance and other risk management needs and issues, handling employee-related matter such as sexual harassment, discrimination and wage issues, and resolving business disputes that inevitably arise over the life of a business. Where the owners of a business or enterprise ultimately decide to terminate a business, Attorney Kuhn has assisted clients in winding up and dissolution of their businesses.
When a business dispute cannot be amicably resolved outside of the courtroom, Attorney Kuhn has successfully represented businesses and individuals in many types of litigation (either as plaintiff or defendant) in state and federal courts across the country involving issues of breach of contract, fraud, misrepresentation, employment discrimination, shareholder disputes, transportation and cargo liability, products liability, automobile liability, general liability, professional liability, construction defects and complex insurance coverage disputes. Attorney Kuhn has also represented clients in arbitrations and mediations and in matters involving governmental administrative and regulatory agencies.
Kevin’s lengthy legal career began when he graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1984 with a bachelor’s degree in finance. He went to work in the insurance industry, where he worked closely with defense attorneys in handling and resolving claims against the insurance company’s policyholders. In this position, Kevin gained an understanding and appreciation for the legal process, which lead him to enroll in law school at UIC-John Marshall Law School in Chicago. Kevin attended law school at night while holding down a full-time job and raising a family. Testament to his work ethic and drive to succeed, Kevin finished law school in only three years and graduated near the top of his class with honors.
Following law school, Kevin went to work for a large law firm in Chicago where he progressed from associate to partner to Chair of the firm’s national insurance law practice. This position enabled Kevin to gain experience practicing in state and federal courts across the country. Kevin is licensed to practice law in state courts in Illinois, Georgia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. He is also admitted in numerous federal courts across the country and has been admitted pro hac vice in various state and federal courts.
In 2011, Kevin decided to leave his big Chicago firm and start his own small firm so that he could have more control over his fees and the types of cases and matters he is able to accept. Kevin’s objective is to offer a wide variety of services to his business clients while keeping his fees more affordable in order to provide small and medium-sized businesses greater access to the legal process. In 2020, Kevin moved with his family to Savannah, Georgia and opened an office in historic downtown Savannah.
